Getting started

What is Stampist?+
Stampist is an app for iPhone and Android that turns your photos into collectible die-cut postage stamps, each one perforated, captioned, dated, and cancelled with a postmark. Every stamp is filed four ways: a collection sorted by month, a calendar diary, a freeform wall for the keepers, and a map of where each one was made.
What do I need to run Stampist?+
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, or an Android phone running Android 8.0 or later. Stampist is free to download from the App Store and Google Play; a plan unlocks the app.
How do I make my first stamp?+
Tap the camera button, take a photo or pick one from your library, then choose a frame. Stampist punches it into a die-cut stamp with serrated edges. Add a caption and a date if you like, and it drops straight into your collection.
Does it work offline?+
Stampist works fully offline. It's local-first, so you can make and browse stamps on a plane, up a mountain, wherever. Everything syncs quietly when you're back online.
What's this hand-drawn mark about?+
During setup you draw your mark once: initials, a squiggle, a tiny duck. It becomes the signature on your stamps and pages. It's the only handwriting in the app, and it's yours.
Is there an Android version?+
Yes. Stampist is on Google Play for phones running Android 8.0 or later, with the same stamps, collection, calendar, wall, and scrapbook as the iPhone edition.

Subscription & billing

How much does Stampist cost?+
One purchase unlocks the whole app. Pick Monthly at $3.99, Yearly at $29.99 (the best value, about $2.49 a month), or a one-time Lifetime at $39.99. There's no free tier and no trial, so every plan is unlocked from your first stamp.
Can I cancel anytime?+
You can cancel anytime, straight from your App Store or Google Play settings, with no emails and no hoops. The stamps you've made stay safely on your device.
How do I cancel my subscription?+
On iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Stampist → Cancel Subscription. On Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Stampist → Cancel. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so cancelling has to happen there rather than inside Stampist. (Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there's nothing to cancel.)
How do I get a refund?+
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us, so we have no way to issue them ourselves. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find Stampist, and choose "Request a refund." On Android, open play.google.com/store/account, find Stampist, and request a refund there. If the store turns you down and you think something's genuinely wrong, write to us and we'll help you make the case.
I paid on another phone. How do I restore it?+
Sign in with the same Apple ID (iPhone) or Google account (Android), then open Stampist and tap "Restore Purchases" on the subscription screen. Your entitlement follows the store account you bought with, so there's nothing to buy twice.
What happens to my stamps if my subscription ends?+
They stay on your device. Stampist locks while there's no active subscription, but nothing is deleted. Resubscribe and your collection is exactly where you left it.

Your data & account

Where do my photos live?+
Your photos live on your phone first, with a private backup tied to the account you signed in with. Your collection is yours alone. There's no feed, no followers, and we never touch your camera roll beyond the photos you pick.
Can I use Stampist on more than one phone?+
Yes. Sign in with the same account on each phone — Sign in with Apple on iPhone, Sign in with Google on Android — and your collection syncs through its private backup, so a stamp you make on one turns up on the others. Your subscription or Lifetime purchase carries across the devices on that store account too.
How do I delete my account?+
In the app: Settings → Delete Account. That permanently removes your account and everything stored with it on our servers. It can't be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.
Can I get my stamps out of the app?+
Yes. Open any stamp and tap the download button to export it as an image or a file, or lay several out as a printable sheet. Your stamps aren't locked in.

Troubleshooting

My stamps aren't syncing.+
Stampist saves locally first and uploads in the background, so your stamps are safe even when sync is stuck. Check that you're online and signed in, then leave the app open for a minute; queued uploads retry on their own. If a stamp still hasn't synced after that, email us.
I can't sign in.+
Stampist uses Sign in with Apple only. If it isn't working, check that you're signed into iCloud on the device (Settings → your name) and that Stampist is allowed under Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple. Still stuck? Write to us with the email address you used.
The app is asking me to subscribe again.+
Usually the receipt just hasn't been re-read yet. Tap "Restore Purchases" on the subscription screen. If that doesn't clear it, confirm the subscription is still active under Settings → your name → Subscriptions, then get in touch.
